Helping us adapt to climate change by dampening wave energy

Canopies of seaweed dampen wave energy by slowing and breaking up waves as they approach the shore.

One of the effects of climate change is increased storm events so the more healthy canopies of seaweed the more resilient our coastline will be. We need to protect and restore wild seaweed beds in Wales and around the world.
