Oxygenation of oceans

Seaweed provides oxygen rich environments

Oxygen bubbles in the ocean

As climate change warms the ocean, oxygen levels are going down. Seaweed can help marine organisms by providing oxygen-rich habitats.

Farmed seaweed helps to increase the overall oxygen levels in oceans as it is harvested before remineralisation takes place (a process which re-absorbs oxygen).
